In the words of a well known BBC comedy "Don't panic!". Valentines day is 26 days away and restaurants are filling up fast! I know we all think it can wait till nearer the time but believe me get this out of the way now and enjoy a happier 2012.
I have had many good and bad experiences on Valentines day but the one I remember as being the best was the champagne dinner of 2011 at Sergio's. Therefore, even though my valentine is not the same as 2011 (hey, live a little!) here is why I am going to book at Sergio's. Costa informs me that the evening will be made very special indeed.
Firstly you get a champagne cocktail each to set the mood! This with candlelight and a live piano playing. Trust me the atmosphere is a real winner.
Then the menu. Oh my word, the food here is to die for.......

VENISON BRESAOLA WITH BUFFALO MOZZARELLA
Thin slices of delicious cured venison served with a ball of creamy buffalo mozzarella. *
MELON COCKTAIL
Mouth watering melon served with a cocktail of seasonal fresh fruits, "a guilt free pleasure".(v)
MEDITERRANEAN SHRIMP WITH A COCKTAIL DIPPING SAUCE
Plump jumbo tail on shrimp with a homemade cocktail dip.

RAVIOLI FUNGHI IN A FRESH PORCINI MUSHROOM SAUCE (v)
Fresh mushroom ravioli in a butter, cream and porcini mushroom sauce.
LAMB CUTLETS WITH ROAST MEDITERRANEAN VEGETABLES
Succulent lamb cutlets with roasted mediterranean vegetables and crispy sautéed potatoes.
SOLE FILLETS IN A CHAMPAGNE SAUCE *
Delicious fillets of sole in our chefs special champagne sauce served with fresh vegetables and crisp sauté potatoes.
Then if you want to go the extra mile (and going off last year boy am I going to go the extra mile

MERE ET TERRA (surf and turf)
A combination of Sergio's famous fillet steak and king prawns dressed with a garlic, chilli butter sauce, served with fresh vegetables and crispy sauté potatoes.
LOBSTER LINGUINI*
A whole fresh lobster tossed in linguini pasta with a fresh tomato, chilli and garlic pasta sauce.

Oh yes, it is only £35 each! Hahaha - thats less than the cost of not getting this booked - 2012 will be expensive and painful if you don't sort this out.

They gave my date a rose last year. It worked, I married her in August.
I also got a rose last year at Sergio's!! I avoided the marriage but the evening was truly wonderful. One tip! Pick the wine carefully :)
